The Pathology Perspective: The MyoSure Device and the Visual D&C

The MyoSure device is the leading tissue removal product for removing fibroids, polyps, and other intrauterine tissue that also preserves uterine form and function. The quality of the technology used to obtain tissue specimens has a direct correlation to quality of the specimen itself. Hologic’s GYN Surgical Solutions team is driving the importance of quality sample collection made possible via visualized dilation and curettage (D&C) offered by hysteroscopy. Accurate diagnoses are key to determining the difference between common gynecological issues like fibroids, and more serious pathologies, such as cancerous or precancerous tissue.

Recently, Hologic hosted a webinar with a fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon, Dr. Michelle Louie, MD, MSCR, FACOG and a board-certified OBGYN physician and fellowship-trained anatomic and clinical Pathologist, Dr. Melanie Fox, DO, FCAP. Both physicians reviewed their own case studies and personal experiences with the MyoSure device and the unique benefits they see from performing a visual D&C.
