Keep it cool with us at AAGL 2022

The AAGL 2022 51st Global Congress kicks off next month! If you plan on attending, be sure to visit booth #510 where we’ll be showcasing our coolest new products. This past year the CoolSeal® vessel sealing portfolio joined our suite of minimally invasive surgical solutions and we’re frozen with excitement to tell you all about them. We can’t wait to chill with you in Colorado! Here’s a sneak peek…

Acessa® procedure— a more complete fibroid treatment
Uterine leiomyomata are incredibly common and can impose a tremendous burden on women who experience fibroid-related symptoms. While there are a variety of treatment options available, minimally invasive and uterine-sparing alternatives are becoming increasingly important to patients. How could adding an option like Laparoscopic Radiofrequency Ablation, or the Acessa procedure, enhance the care you’re already providing to your patients?

Well, first and foremost, the Acessa procedure bridges the gap between medical management and major surgery for uterine fibroids and allows you to offer more options to your patients. Think of it as a tool in your toolkit that enables you to provide a personalized, complete treatment for patients with nearly all types of fibroids.1

The procedure is supported by clinical data demonstrating significantly reduced fibroid volume across a broad range of fibroid types, favorable reintervention rates, and significant improvements in fibroid-related quality of life.2 The procedure also has a 94% patient satisfaction rate and a 98% patient-to-patient recommendation rate. The Acessa procedure provides hope for patients with difficult-to-treat fibroids who are seeking a solution that will not require invasive surgery.1

We’ll have Acessa procedure specialists in booth #510 at AAGL to tell you even more about how you can integrate the Acessa procedure into your continuum of care.

If you’re already offering the Acessa procedure and want to counsel patients or set up your office materials, we encourage you to utilize our Acessa Procedure Marketing Kits.

CoolSeal vessel sealing—dissect, grasp, and seal in one surgical instrument
CoolSeal vessel sealing joined our suite of minimally invasive surgical solutions this year, and we’re excited to show it off at AAGL! Our CoolSeal vessel sealing portfolio combines the safety of advanced bipolar radiofrequency sealing technology with the precision and versatility of true surgical instruments.

The portfolio includes three CoolSeal devices, each designed to enable fine dissection and maximize visibility in tight spaces.

CoolSeal® Trinity is a true all-in-one surgical instrument that keeps pace with your procedural rhythm, creating fast, reliable seals with less than 1 mm thermal spread on average.3-5 CoolSeal® Reveal is an open sealer, divider, and dissector designed to maximize visibility in tight spaces while minimizing the thermal footprint.6 Finally, there’s the CoolSeal® Mini 3 mm vessel sealer, which was precisely designed for pediatric surgery and is 40% smaller than other vessel sealers on the market.7,8

Stop by booth #510 at AAGL to keep it cool with us! If you won’t be joining us in person, you can always check out our virtual surgery suite, which has hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, and advanced energy suites for you to explore.

Important Safety Information

Acessa ProVu® system
The Acessa ProVu system is indicated for use in percutaneous, laparoscopic coagulation and ablation of soft tissue, including treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids under laparoscopic ultrasound guidance. The Acessa ProVu system is contraindicated for patients who are not candidates for laparoscopic surgery and/or patients with a uterus adherent to pelvic tissue or viscera. The Acessa ProVu system’s guidance system is not intended for diagnostic use. Please read all instructions for use of the Acessa ProVu system prior to its use. Safe and effective electrosurgery is dependent not only on equipment design but also on factors under control of the operator. Rare but serious risks include, but are not limited to, infection, injury to adjacent structures, blood loss and complications related to laparoscopy and/or general anesthesia. Insufficient data exists on which to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Acessa ProVu system in women who plan future pregnancy, therefore the Acessa ProVu system is not recommended for women who are planning future pregnancy.

CoolSeal Trinity
The CoolSeal® Trinity sealer/divider/dissector is a bipolar electrosurgical instrument intended for use in minimally invasive or open surgical procedures where ligation and division of vessels, tissue bundles, and lymphatics is desired. The CoolSeal® Trinity sealer/divider/dissector can be used on vessels (arteries, veins, and vascular bundles) up to and including 7 mm in diameter. It is indicated for use in general surgery procedures including urologic, vascular, and gynecologic. It is indicated for use in adult and pediatric populations (infants, children, and adolescents). Procedures may include, but are not limited to, Nissen fundoplication, colectomy, cholecystectomy, adhesiolysis, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, etc. Do not use the CoolSeal® Trinity sealer/divider/dissector for tubal sterilization or tubal coagulation for sterilization procedures. The device is contraindicated for use in ENT procedures.
For further information related to warnings, cautions, and directions for use, please consult the Instructions For Use.

CoolSeal Reveal
The CoolSeal® Reveal open sealer/divider/dissector is a bipolar electrosurgical instrument intended for use in open surgical procedures in adults and pediatrics where ligation and division of vessels, tissue bundles, and lymphatics is desired. The CoolSeal® Reveal open sealer/divider/dissector can be used on vessels (arteries and veins) up to and including 6 mm in diameter. It is indicated for use in general surgery and in such surgical specialties as urologic, thoracic, plastic, and reconstructive. Procedures may include but are not limited to, bowel resections, gall bladder procedures, Nissen fundoplication, and adhesiolysis.
The CoolSeal® Reveal open sealer/divider/dissector is also indicated for open ENT procedures in adults (thyroidectomy, radical neck dissection, and parotidectomy) for ligation and division of vessels, lymphatics and tissue bundles 2-3 mm away from unintended thermally-sensitive structures such as nerves and parathyroid glands.
Do not use the CoolSeal® Reveal open sealer/divider/dissector for tubal sterilization or tubal coagulation for sterilization procedures.
For further information related to warnings, cautions, and directions for use, please consult the Instructions For Use.

CoolSeal Mini
The CoolSeal® Mini sealer is intended for use in open and laparoscopic general surgical procedures to seal blood vessels and vascular bundles up to and including 5 mm in diameter for use in adult and pediatric populations, wherever vessel ligation is required. This device is contraindicated for use in ENT procedures. Do not use the device within 1 cm of a cochlear implant. Do not use the CoolSeal® Mini sealer for tubal sterilization or tubal coagulation for sterilization procedures. Do not use this device on vessels in excess of 5 mm in diameter.
