A strong partner in medical education makes the best care possible

At Hologic, we’re proud that our work in research and product development improves the health and quality of life for women around the world. However, our commitment to innovation falls short if we’re not helping you learn how to use that innovation, sharing best practices, and fully understanding the impact it has on women’s lives. That’s why medical education is so important.

We believe that high-quality education inspires positive change
Motivated by the women our products impact, our Surgical Medical Education team aims to provide you with tools and programming that empower you to make well-informed decisions, provide vital counsel to your patients, and ultimately, deliver life-changing care.

To better understand the importance we place on education, watch this short video. Now let’s take a look at some of the educational tools and programs we offer.

Easy-access learning available
Live monthly webinars on the Acessa® laparoscopic radiofrequency ablation (Lap-RFA) procedure include surgeon-led presentations, discussions on topics such as procedure basics and patient selection, and live narration of pre-recorded case footage. Live webinar details are promoted on our Hologic LinkedIn and Twitter social media pages as well as through email. You can also access an on-demand webinar featuring case videos, downloadable resources, and the opportunity to ask questions while viewing.

For your immediate use, our newly relaunched AcessaU website contains five short learning modules and quizzes about laparoscopic RFA. The content is supplementary to required surgeon training on the Acessa procedure.

Programs coordinated through your local representative and/or Medical Education
We also offer multiple opportunities for more specialized education. Programs specific to the Acessa procedure include:

  • Acessa Case Monitoring: An Acessa subject matter expert (either a Physician Proctor or Hologic Specialist) joins you for a minimum of your first two Acessa cases. Physician Proctors and Hologic Specialists monitor the procedure for proper use of the Acessa ProVu system. This is a required step of Acessa surgeon training.
  • Acessa Virtual Case Observations: Allows for observation of a live procedure and two-way communication with the operating surgeon—all without needing to travel. You can observe the laparoscopic view, ultrasound view, and overhead view of the surgeon’s hands simultaneously.
  • Acessa Case Observations: Offers observation of a live case and discussion with an experienced Acessa surgeon.
  • Acessa Learning Lab: Features faculty-led, hands-on training on high-fidelity real tissue models.

Learning opportunities that encompass our full laparoscopic and hysteroscopic portfolio are also available. With hands-on training, you can receive live in-person training that helps you build skills and refine techniques through simulated procedures. Innovation + education = more options for women
At the end of the day, the goal of our Medical Education team is to offer you more tools and information so you can help your patients make the best decisions for themselves. When we empower you with both innovation and education, we empower women—and we’re thrilled to be your partner.
